1 | Before Anything Else
If you’re reading this, you’ve already taken a step most people don’t.
You showed up!
Maybe you came here to learn how to fly fish. Maybe someone pointed you this way. Maybe you weren’t even sure why you came, just that something felt off and it was time to try something different.
Whatever brought you here, you’re in the right place.
This program isn’t about being good at fishing.
It’s not about having the right gear or knowing what you’re doing.
It’s about slowing things down.
It’s about being around good people.
It’s about finding your footing again, one step at a time.
You don’t have to have it all figured out to be here. You just have to be willing to show up.
2 | What This Is
At its core, this is a place to reconnect.
With the water.
With other people.
And eventually, with yourself.
We use fly fishing as the vehicle, but what really matters is what happens around it. The conversations. The quiet moments. The shared experience of being outside and not having to carry everything alone for a while.
There’s no pressure here to perform. No expectations to be anything other than where you are right now.
You’ll learn along the way. That part takes care of itself.
3 | What You Can Expect
We keep things simple and steady.
You’ll have opportunities to:
Learn fly tying, casting, and fishing basics
Spend time on the water in a low-pressure environment
Be around people who get it, even if nothing is said out loud
Take part in trips, classes, and small group outings
Some days will be structured. Some won’t be.
Some days you’ll fish. Some days you’ll just stand in the water and breathe a little easier than you did before.
Both count!
4 | How to Sign Up and Stay Connected
The easiest way to stay connected and get on the water is through our website:
cosphwschedule.com
This is your go-to spot. You’ll use it to:
See upcoming classes and trips
Sign up for events
Check what’s available and when
Stay in the loop as new opportunities open up
If you’re ever wondering what’s next or how to get involved… this is the place to check first.
Spots will open up at different times, so it’s worth checking back regularly.
5 | The Experience
Everything we do is built around consistency and connection.
We meet regularly. We keep showing up. And over time, something starts to shift.
You’ll start recognizing faces. Conversations get easier. The pace slows down a bit.
Then you get on the water.
That’s where a lot of it happens.
Not because of the fish, but because of what the water does to you when you give it time. Things quiet down. Your breathing changes. You start paying attention again.
You don’t need to force anything. Just being there is enough.
6 | TRIBE
You’ll hear this word around here, and it’s intentional.
We’re not trying to build a roster. We’re building something closer to a small community… a TRIBE.
That doesn’t happen all at once. It builds over time, through small moments, shared time on the water, and just consistently showing up for each other.
TRIBE isn’t just a word, it’s a way of being here:
T | Trust
Trust builds slowly. It comes from showing up, doing what you say you’re going to do, and being steady. You don’t have to earn it all at once. Just being consistent goes a long way.
R | Relationship
This is where most of the real work happens. Not in the fishing, but in the connection. Conversations, shared experiences, and just being around people who understand without needing a full explanation.
I | Investment
This is about people, not just participation. A quick check-in, a short outing, a simple “how are you doing” text… those things matter more than most realize. Small effort, big impact.
B | Belonging
At some point, this starts to feel like a place where you’re not just attending, you’re part of it. You’re known. You’re welcomed. You don’t have to explain yourself to fit in.
E | Empowerment
The goal isn’t dependence. It’s confidence. Over time, you start figuring things out on your own, on the water and off. And eventually, you might find yourself helping someone else do the same.
It doesn’t happen overnight. But if you keep showing up, it builds.
And before you know it, you’re not just part of the program… You’re part of the TRIBE!
7 | CREW (Take A Vet Fishing)
As you spend more time here, things naturally get a little smaller… in a good way.
You’ll find yourself connected to a handful of people. We call that a CREW.
This is also what we mean when we say Take A Vet Fishing (TAVF).
It’s the same thing.
A CREW is just a small group of people who choose to stay connected and get on the water together outside of the larger scheduled events.
Nothing formal. Nothing complicated.
Just a few people in the same boat, moving in the same direction.
This is where TRIBE really comes to life.
Trust gets built by showing up for each other
Relationships grow through shared time
Investment becomes natural, not forced
Belonging starts to feel real
Confidence begins to build
Some days it’s a short trip.
Some days it’s just a check-in.
Some days it’s simply knowing someone is there.
It’s not about big plans or perfect conditions.
It’s about consistency.
Getting on the water more often.
Spending time with people who get it.
Taking things one step at a time.
You don’t have to be an expert.
You don’t have to feel ready.
If you’re here and willing, you’re already part of it.
8 | What We Ask (Without Making It a Thing)
Say it as many times as you need to.
A “successful” day might look like:
A good conversation
Standing in the water for 20 minutes
Laughing about nothing
Just being outside
Fish are a bonus.
Connection is the win.
9 | Where This Can Go
Everyone’s path here looks a little different.
Some folks come out a few times a year.
Some find their CREW and stay connected.
Some begin investing in others the same way someone showed up for them.
There’s no timeline.
But over time, you may notice:
You trust the process a little more
You build real relationships
You start investing in showing up
You feel a sense of belonging again
You gain confidence, on the water and off
And sometimes, without even realizing it…
You become part of someone else’s TRIBE.
12 | Final Thought
Nothing here is about doing it perfectly.
It’s about showing up.
It’s about taking a breath.
It’s about giving yourself a little time.
One outing at a time.
One conversation at a time.
One cast at a time.
