Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing
Colorado Springs & Pueblo
Mark your calendars for July 12th and join us for a special day at our COS PHW Open House—a celebration of community, service, and the healing power of fly fishing. We’ll kick things off by welcoming new members, recognizing our top volunteers from the past quarter, and rolling up our sleeves for our annual house cleaning and swap meet. This is your chance to connect with fellow veterans, pick up quality fly fishing gear—rods, tying materials, waders, boots, and more—on a first come, first serve basis, and enjoy some classic backyard fare with burgers and brats on the grill. Whether you’re a long-time participant or brand new to the program, this is the perfect opportunity to get involved, stock up, and share in the camaraderie that makes our group so special.
When: Saturday July 12 – 11:00 am to 1:00 pm
Where: PHW-COS office (913 E. Filmore, Colorado Springs, CO 80907)
The Monthly Current | June 2025
Team,
As we roll into June with energy high and the season well underway, we’re constantly reminded of how generous, capable, and quietly heroic this community really is.
Pamela Wright and her Event Coordination Team have been working around the clock to launch our full season of trips and classes. Scott “Marty” Martin managed to get every trip this year prepped, approved, and funded ahead of time, a miracle in itself, and is now serving as Trip Lead on a National trip at Oakheart Lodge. Kat Scharn has been a TAVF machine, coordinating nearly 50 events in the last two months. Mark Fluitt continues to open national opportunities for our Participants, and Maylen Gaspar is holding it down on all of our single-day trip logistics.
To all of you giving your time, energy, and heart, thank you. Whether you're casting with a new Participant, calling someone to check in, or simply helping set up tables for a class, it all matters. And if we didn’t name you here, please know it’s not because your work goes unseen. Quite the opposite.
Best Regards,
Dday & Woody
